Basant Panchami Celebration

Dronacharya College of Engineering solemnly observed Basant Panchami on 23rd January 2026 by organizing a traditional Hawan and Saraswati Poojan on the college campus. The festival, which signifies the advent of spring, is devoted to Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom, and learning. The occasion was celebrated with deep devotion, spiritual reverence, and cultural enthusiasm.
The programme commenced in the early hours with a sacred Hawan ceremony, performed to seek divine blessings for intellectual growth, harmony, and academic excellence. The chanting of Vedic mantras and the offering of ahutis created a serene and spiritually uplifting atmosphere across the campus, filling the surroundings with positivity and devotion.
Following the Hawan, a Saraswati Poojan was conducted with great reverence. Faculty members and staff offered floral tributes and prayers to Goddess Saraswati, seeking guidance and enlightenment for students and the academic community. The rituals reflected the institution’s commitment to nurturing knowledge, discipline, and moral values.
The ceremony was graced by the august presence of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Isha Malhotra, Registrar Dr. Hansraj, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and staff. Their active participation added dignity and significance to the celebration, reinforcing a collective respect for Indian traditions and cultural heritage.
As part of the observance, Prasadam was prepared and distributed among all attendees. The sharing of prasadam symbolized unity, harmony, and collective blessings, fostering a sense of togetherness among faculty and staff.
