Celebration of National Technology Day

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram celebrated “National Technology Day” on 11th May 2024. The day is observed to commemorate the Pokhran nuclear test held in 1999. An Expert Talk was organized at the seminar hall with Prof. Dimple Saproo (Innovation Activity Coordinator) as the keynote speaker of the session. 110 Students attended the talk.
The event aimed to inspire students, faculty, and staff to innovate and contribute to the nation’s technological progress. Prof. Dimple Saproo shared insights on the journey from acquiring foundational knowledge in schools to building groundbreaking startups. She discussed the role of curiosity and creativity in shaping problem-solving abilities from a young age, encouraging students to think beyond textbooks. She highlighted the importance of translating theoretical knowledge into practical applications. Further, the speaker provided an overview of India’s thriving startup ecosystem, emphasizing government initiatives like Startup India and Atal Innovation Mission that support young innovators.
Lastly, the speaker outlined critical skills such as teamwork, leadership, and adaptability, which are essential for transforming ideas into successful startups. They also discussed the importance of leveraging emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and blockchain in modern entrepreneurship.
The talk concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where students raised insightful questions about navigating the challenges of startups, securing funding, and balancing innovation with practical implementation
