International Conference on Communication, Information & Computing Technology (ICCICT-15)

12th May-2015

Mrs. Poonam Yadav (Assistant Professor) from Electronics and Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon presented a paper in the International Conference on Communication, Information & Computing Technology (ICCICT-15) organized at Global Institutes, Amritsar (Punjab) on 12th May 2015. The title of the paper was “An Empirical Study of Mobile Software Engineering to Improve Cloud Computing Environment”.

The objective of the conference was to provide high quality research and professional interaction for the advancement of science, technology and fellowship. The conference covered all aspects of engineering and allied areas. Scholars and academicians from different fields attended the conference and presented their papers on latest technologies.

The chairperson for the session was Dr. Harpreet Kaur (Punjab Technical University, Punjab) and co-chairperson was Priya Kapoor (Global Institute of Engineering, Amritsar). The conference was graced by the presence of following Dignitaries:

Mrs. Poonam Yadav’s paper was based on the art of cloud computing technology proposed to understand its effectiveness in the field of mobile software engineering. To facilitate the research study, a music streaming application prototype system was built based on Android platform and Google App Engine to explore the impact and effect of cloud computing in mobile software environment. Cloud computing is Internet based computing. The similarity with client-server architecture is that cloud computing shares resources. The difference is that “sharing” is provided based on user demand and charged on consumed quota. The advantage of using cloud computing is that it reduces the expertise and cost for establishing and maintaining the server infrastructure from users, thus allowing them to focus on business application development. The disadvantage is that it may lock the user to a specific cloud service provider due to poor portability caused by the lack of a standard interface. This paper presented an experimental approach focusing on technical advances and dabbling into intersection of the two hot areas i.e. mobile software engineering and cloud computing.

The Conference provided a good platform for researchers to share their work and was beneficial for the participants.
