CII CONFERENCE ON MANUFACTURING
Mr. Hari Mohan Rai, Assistant Professor from Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mrs. Akanksha Kulshreshtha, Assistant Professor from Department of Electronics & Computer Engineering, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a one day Conference on Manufacturing conducted by CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) at The Leela, Ambience, Gurgaon on 14 May 15.
The objective of the conference was to discuss the various perspective of manufacturing and to make success of Make in India & Digital India concept. The dignitaries from different industries were invited to talk and present the scenario of manufacturing from their point of view.
The inaugural session was started with opening remarks & welcome address by Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, Vice Chairman, CII Haryana State Council & Executive Director- Plant Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. He briefed about industrial manufacturing condition and related with “Make in India”. The key points stressed upon in his speech were, Use of IT solutions, Digital India,Make in India and New industry policy in India.
The chief guest for the conference was Captain Abhimanyu, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Industries & Commerce, Government of Haryana. He addressed the gathering and talked about the Govt. of Haryana initiative of Make in India & Digital India. He brought out that main focus of Govt. of Haryana is to setup micro and small level industry, skill development program and motivating & supporting entrepreneurship program.
Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Partner, Nomura Research Institute India Pvt Ltd spoke about what is happening globally in manufacturing and introduced “VUCA” concept i.e. Volatile-Uncertain-Complex-Ambiguous which may transform intoVision-Understanding-Clarity-Action.
Mr. Gaurang Pandya, President, Building & Industrial Systems (India), United Technologies India Pvt Ltd addressed the gathering and talked about how to setup & explore industry and ease of doing business in Haryana. Mr. Vineet Garg, Managing Director- HSIIDC, Government of Haryana delivered a talk on “Facilitation of industry” by online system & post allotment system. He also explained that how the Govt. of Haryana is contributing in Make in India and Digital Indiaprojects of the Govt of India.
Mr. Neeraj Munjal explained the importance of innovation in products. Mr. S G Mani presented his views on customer value chain and discussed few interesting statistics on the topic. Mr. Banerjee demonstrated the formation of diesel and petroleum in his industry with the help of innovative slide show.
There was a panel discussion on “Making India a Global Manufacturing Hub” and the discussion was informative and knowledgeable.
