Awareness Drive under the campaign Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

NSS Units, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized awareness drive as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign.) A dedicated team of 30 NSS volunteers along with Dr. Pooja Sharma and Dr. Anupam Dalal (NSS Programme Officers, DCE) actively participated in an awareness drive at Khentawas village on 14th August 2023. The initiative aimed to educate the local community about the harmful effects of drug addiction and promote a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle. Volunteers engaged with villagers, especially the youth, emphasized the importance of staying away from substance abuse and making informed life choices.
The campaign included interactive sessions, street plays (nukkad natak), and informative discussions to highlight the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug abuse. Volunteers distributed pamphlets and posters to spread awareness and encouraged individuals to pledge against drug consumption. The villagers actively participated in the discussion, shared their concerns and sought guidance on rehabilitation and preventive measures.
The program successfully instilled awareness and responsibility among the villagers, reinforcing the importance of a drug-free society. The NSS volunteers played a crucial role in inspiring the youth to lead a healthy and productive life, aligning with the vision of the Government of India’s Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. This initiative was a significant step towards empowering communities and fostering a positive social change.
