CSI Best Regional Student Branch Award Ceremony

CSI Student Chapter of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized an Award Ceremony on 6th May 2017 at college campus for being selected as Best Regional CSI Student Branch in Region-1 of CSI for the contribution to CSI activities for the year 2015-16.
The Computer Society of India (CSI) is the largest and most professionally managed association of and for IT professionals in India. The mission of CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community.
During the Inaugural Ceremony, Principal, Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad welcomed the Guest of Honor, Mr. Saurabh Agrawal (Regional Student Coordinator, Region-I, CSI) with bouquet. He briefed the gathering the purpose of the ceremony and the importance of such recognitions in an academic institution.
Speaking on the occasion,Mr. Saurabh Agrawal discussed the benefits of any professional society membership that joining a professional association is a win-win situation for students because while they are networking with professionals, they are being praised for taking the initiative to learn more about their field of interest. Members of professional associations are student-friendly and want to mentor incoming workers as they transition to the corporate world. He explained the activities conducted by Computer Society of India for the students associated with these societies includes lecture meetings, seminars, conferences, training programmes, programming contests and practical visits to installations. He also focussed on the latest trends in information technology including automation, Internet of Things, Big data and mobility.
The session with students was highly interactive as they were given chances to ask questions and clear doubts regarding placement with the guest so that they will be able to learn more about the actual scenario in an organization.
