15th Convocation Ceremony

The 15th Convocation Ceremony for the students of B.Tech (2012-2016 Batch) was held in Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on 13th May 2017 (Saturday). The auspicious ceremony commenced with the solemn academic procession walking into the festooned Auditorium of the college with the convocation music playing in the background.
Keeping with the tradition of “Dronacharya - Gurukul Combing Tradition With Modernity”, the ceremony started with invocation and recitation of “Saraswati - Vandana”. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon'ble Chief-Guest Dr. Bibek Bandhopadhyay, Ex-Director General, National Institute of Solar Engery, New Delhi, Govt. of India.
While delivering the Convocation Address the Hon'ble Chief-Guest Dr. Bibek Bandhopadhyay, highlighted how knowledge has emerged as the key driver of our economy today. He expressed that India is bestowed with a unique knowledge wealth of qualified young professionals which is increasing every year and as a society, we value and nurture the knowledge building activity. He felt that the perennial source of human capital of India has to be trapped and converted into value. He also appreciated the achievements of Dronacharyans in the field of technical projects, research and patents.
At the outset, Hon'ble Principal Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad welcomed the esteemed Chief-Guest, essaying the achievements of the alumni and reminding the students to follow the path of dedication, hard-work, and sincerity in their chosen careers and raise the Dronacharya flag high. He also emphasized that the students should make themselves strive towards sustainable development of society as they are stewards of our nation and custodians of our tradition and values.
On this propitious occasion, 500 students were awarded B. Tech. Degrees in various branches of Engineering like Mechanical, Computer, IT, Civil, Electronics, EEE, ECS etc. Having received their degrees, Dronacharyans took a pledge to remain responsible citizens and serve the cause of nation.
Prof. (Dr.) Sri Krishan Yadav, Dean Academics, delivered exhortation to the Fresh Graduates. The convocation ceremony-2017 came to an end with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Sanghmitra V. Arora, Head (Dept of Applied Sciences & Humanities) in the august presence of all HODs and the Registrar.
