Participation in the National Conference on Physics, Technology and Sustainable Development - 2026 (NCPTSD-2026)
3rd to 5th October 2026
Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, recorded a notable academic achievement through the participation of 14 students in the National Conference on Physics, Technology and Sustainable Development - 2026 (NCPTSD-2026), held from 03rd to 05th October 2026 in hybrid mode. Under the guidance of Dr. Kunal Karn, Department of Applied Science & Humanities, students from CSIT, CSE (Internet of Things), and CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) presented their research work, demonstrating their engagement with emerging technologies and interdisciplinary scientific research.
The conference provided a platform for students to present innovative ideas and explores the integration of physics, computing, and sustainable technological development. The research presentations addressed contemporary areas such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, the Internet of Things (IoT), renewable energy, intelligent transportation, and sustainable infrastructure. Through their participation, students gained exposure to academic research practices, scientific communication, and the presentation of technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges.
A total of 14 students delivered oral research presentations on diverse topics reflecting emerging technological trends and interdisciplinary applications. Their research covered Fractal and Symmetry-Based Approaches for Tsunami Modeling, Quantum Optics for Computer Science and Information Technology, Quantum Computing for Intelligent, Sustainable, and Autonomous Transportation Systems, and Machine Learning-Based Intrusion Detection for IoT Networks. Other presentations explored informed machine learning for renewable energy fault diagnosis, quantum communication and key distribution, mechanistic interpretability and AI safety, AI-enabled waste management, automated cyberattack path analysis, ethical challenges associated with artificial intelligence, quantum computing fundamentals, smart-home privacy risks, quantum machine learning for disease detection, and AI-driven security event detection using CCTV infrastructure.

A significant highlight of NCPTSD-2026 was the achievement of Sonam (Roll No. 29646), CSE (IoT), who received the Best Presentation Award for her research paper titled “Hybrid Quantum Machine Learning Platform for Early Disease Detection.” Her achievement recognised the research presented on the potential integration of quantum computing and machine learning for early disease detection. This accomplishment brought distinction to the college’s participation and highlighted the importance of nurturing research aptitude, analytical thinking, and effective scientific communication among undergraduate students.
Dr.KunalKarn provided academic guidance throughout the students’ research and presentation activities. His mentorship supported the students in selecting relevant research topics, organising technical content, developing presentations, and communicating complex scientific concepts effectively. The guidance encouraged interdisciplinary thinking and the exploration of innovative approaches to contemporary technological challenges.
Participation in the conference offered students valuable experience in presenting research before an academic audience and strengthened their understanding of research dissemination. The activity further encouraged independent learning, critical analysis, technical communication, and continued engagement with emerging fields of science and engineering. All 14 students received certificates recognising their oral presentations, while Sonam’s Best Presentation Award marked a notable achievement for the institution.
The successful participation of students in NCPTSD-2026 reflects Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram’s commitment to promoting research-oriented learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and academic excellence. Such initiatives provide an important foundation for nurturing future researchers and innovators capable of addressing technological challenges and contributing to sustainable development.
