5th June 2024
NSS Units, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram actively participated in the campaign ‘10,000 Voices for Climate Action – Letters to the Prime Minister’ on World Environment Day being celebrated on 5th June, 2024. A letter-writing initiative was organized which aimed at urging the Indian Prime Minister to take stronger actions on climate change. Students, faculty, and staff of the college collectively penned heartfelt letters expressing their concerns about the pressing climate crisis and highlighting the need for immediate and comprehensive policy changes. The letters addressed issues such as reducing carbon emissions, promoting renewable energy, protecting biodiversity, and implementing sustainable practices at the national level. The initiative not only allowed participants to voice their commitment to environmental preservation but also aligned with the global call for stronger climate action.
The campaign, which was part of a larger national movement, served as a platform for students to engage with the broader environmental discourse and contribute to a significant cause. The letters were compiled and one letter was sent to the Prime Minister’s office, representing the collective efforts of the college in advocating for a sustainable future.
