The Brainstorming Session on "Empowerment of Women Technocrats in R&D with Special Reference to Manufacturing Sector" was an intellectually stimulating event that brought together esteemed professionals, researchers, academicians, and industry experts in the field of science and technology. The session, organized by the Department of Science and Technology at Kalasalingam University, aimed to address the challenges and opportunities that women technocrats encounter in the realm of research and development, particularly within the manufacturing sector. The event took place over two days, on 27th and 28th April 2018, in the serene environs of Thiruvananthapuram's Poovar region. Dr. Ashima Mehta, HOD CSIT at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon also attended the event.
Day 1:
The first day of the session commenced with a warm welcome by the organizers, followed by an inaugural address that highlighted the significance of promoting women's participation in research and development, especially in the manufacturing sector. Distinguished keynote speakers shared their insights on gender diversity, inclusivity, and strategies to empower women in technology-driven fields.
Day 2:
The second day of the brainstorming session delved deeper into specific case studies and success stories of women technocrats who have excelled in the manufacturing sector. Presentations from both academia and industry shed light on the remarkable contributions made by women researchers, engineers, and leaders in various manufacturing domains. Discussions revolved around innovative research methodologies, skill enhancement programs, and policy interventions that could further empower women technocrats.
Dr. Ashima Mehta, being an authority in the field of CSIT, actively participated in these discussions, offering her insights on how the advancements in Computer Science and Technology are transforming the manufacturing landscape. She highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaborations and the integration of emerging technologies in fostering inclusive growth.
