"Meeting regarding Inclusion of value added courses in curriculum by VLCI"

Mr. Chandra Shekhar Singh (HOD,ECE ), Mr. Rajesh Matoo(Associate Professor-ME) & Mr. Krishanu Kundu (Assistant Professor-EEE) from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the “Meeting regarding Inclusion of value added courses in curriculum by VLCI” organized by Dean, Academic Affairs, YMCA University of Science & Technology, Faridabad in association with CII, JICA & CoE on 5th April 2018 .
VLCI - Visionary Learning Community, India is basically Community approach to learning. Its key motive is to fulfill the gap between Academic & Industry. VLCI tends to set a platform for college students to get technical skills from technical experts through projects & internship at industry. VLCI is based on the philosophy of spreading the knowledge of a new manufacturing paradigm of Flow Production System (based on Toyota Production system).
The objective of VLCI is to make students industry ready & provide college-industry linkage. VLCI is structured as follows: 3-year plan-2 Modules/year, with a concept of Learn-Practice-Learn-Teach students.
Prof. Shoji (Padmashree awarded), Mr. C S Patel, Mentor VLCI and Mr. Saideep Rathnam, Chief Instructor VLCI were the key speakers of the meeting.
The meeting was preceded by welcome address & introductory speech by Dr. Vikram Singh, Dean, Academic Affairs, YMCA University of Science & Technology, Faridabad. Overview & introduction of VLCI community was well explained by Mr. Saideep Rathnam. The industry owners Toshima Packaging of Bhiwadi and United crores of Faridabad were one of the key speakers of the event.
The session was followed by questionnaire session where several college & university personnel and entrepreneurs discussed the scarcity of skilled engineers in India.
