MICROSOFT IMAGINE CUP 2018
19th - 20th April 2018
Two project namely “IoT based Smart Bus Shelter” and “Mobile Assistive kit for visually impaired” from IT, CSIT and ECS department made it to National Finals of Microsoft Imagine Cup 2018 which was held at Pride Plaza Hotel Aerocity, New Delhi on 19th - 20th April 2018.
At the finals two teams from IT, CSIT and ECS Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon competed with 31 other teams. The competition was conducted to select Top 4 projects among 33 finalists shortlisted from India.
On 19th April 2018, the finale started with the keynote session by Mr. Vibhor Shrivastava (Manager, Microsoft India). After the keynote session Mr. Narendra Bhandari, (General Manager, Developer Experience & Evangelism, Microsoft India), gave the description about the topic, “Imagine Cup is all about innovation, transformation. The competition was to demonstrate project and tell a new innovation idea in the project. There were 12 jury members and each had an expertise in their domain. Microsoft team gave the brief knowledge of Innovation and explained the importance of the technology in the day today life. Next students gave presentation and also the business plan of their project in front of panel of judges. By the end of the day team Mobile Assistive kit for visually impaired cleared two rounds and secured their place in top Eight.
On 20th April 2018, The project titled “Mobile Assistive kit for visually impaired” comprising of team members Manan Bhardwaj (IT-VI), V. Sai Anila (IT-VI) and Tamanna Sood (IT-VI) guided by Mrs. Neha Verma (Assistant Professor) made their way through 3 Rounds to be crowned as WINNERS OF DIVERSITY TRACK of the national level project competition powered by Microsoft. The students received a trophy, certificates and many goodies from Mr. Anant Maheshwari - President, Microsoft India.
It was a great experience for all the participants.
