Dr. Jyoti Anand, Assistant Professor, Applied Science and Humanities Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended a 5 day TEQIP - II Sponsored Short term Training Program (STTP) on “Research and Publication” organized by Department of Humanities, Delhi Technological University from 25th to 29th July, 2016.
The Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP) aimed to upscale and support ongoing efforts of GOI to improve quality of technical education and enhance existing capacities of the institutions to become responsive to rapid economic and technological developments occurring both at national and international levels. The course contents covered the “Literature Review, Questionnaire & Factor Analysis”, “Research in Law, Domestic Violence and emerging trend in Law”, “Impact Factor and Index” and “Quality Improvement in higher education in the institution”.
The program inaugurated with the welcome of Chief Guest Prof. V.P.S Arora, Vice Chancellor Shri Venkateshwara University. The other Dignitaries of the STTP were Dr. Anuja Pandey, Prof. Anju Tikku from Department of Law in DTU,Dr. S.R Srivastava from the Department of Applied Mathematics, DTU, Dr. Amarendra Pani, Deputy Director & Head, Research Division Association of Indian Universities, Prof. Ravinder Gargesh, Professor & Head Department of Linguistics, DU.

Dr. Anuja Pandey started the session with the topic “Literature Review, Questionnaire & Factor Analysis”. In her lecture she discussed that literature Review provides an overview of previous research on a topic that critically evaluates, classifies, and compares what has already been published on a particular topic. She also explained the attributes of a well - designed questionnaire and framework for developing questionnaires. A primary goal of factor analysis is to achieve a meaningful interpretation of the observed variables through the factors.
Prof. Ravinder Gargesh discussed the topics “Research Publication” and “Research Methodology”. He explained Research Publication plans, format for research publications and journals in which research paper published. The methodology may include publication research, interviews, surveys and other research techniques, and could include both present and historical information.

Prof. Anju Tikku delivered her lecture on “Emerging Research in Law, Domestic Violence and trend in Law”. She presented an overview of the key emerging issues in domestic and violence research.
Dr. S.R Srivastava discussed “Analysis and discriminate analysis, correlation and regression, multiple regression, partial regression”. He explained mechanism of analysis discrimination and methods for correlation and regression.

Dr. Sukh Dev briefed various factors on “Impact Factor and Index” in the session chaired by Mr. Nand Kumar. The"impact factor" (IF) is the most commonly used assessment aid for deciding which journals should receive a scholarly submission or attention from research readership. Indexed journals are considered to be of higher scientific quality as compared to non - indexed journals.
Prof. Neeti Aggarwal discussed “Immerging Area in research and Management”.

Dr. Amarendra Pani, Deputy Director delivered his lecture on “Literature Review” in the session chaired by Mrs. Saroj Bala, in the next session.
Dr. S.R Srivastava from Department of Applied Mathematics, DTU explained about “Probability & Statistical Distribution chaired by Mr. Nand Kumar. Probability distributions are a fundamental concept in statistics. They are used both on a theoretical level and a practical level.

In the last session Prof. Saroj, Head of the Department, DTU delivered the Lecture on “Quality Improvement in higher education in the institution”. After the Valedictory speech Prof. Seema, concluded that this type of Short term Training Program are quite enriching and extensive in its theme and provided an opportunity to the delegates and researchers to expand their knowledge and ideas in new perspectives.
This Short Term Program enriched participant’s knowledge with more information, experience and confidence.
