Entrepreneurship Educator Program by NEN
13th - 15th July 2016
To provide in - depth knowledge of entrepreneurship through its basic concepts and knowledge such as Idea Generation, Opportunity Evaluation, Business Model and Business Plan, a three day Faculty Development Program onEntrepreneurship Educator Program was organized from 13th July 2016 to 15th July 2016 at JIMS, New Delhi. Ms. Ashu Khurana, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Mr. Gajanand, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering from Dronacharya College of Engineering Gurgaon attended theFaculty Development Program. This Program was attended by 32 faculties from various organizations across NCR.
Day 1: 13th July, 2016
The session began with a welcome address by Ms. Sanya Singh, Consultant, National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN).She welcomed all the faculties attending the Program.
The morning session was conducted by Mr. Raj Bhatt, Consultant, NEN. He gave a brief introduction of three days Entrepreneurship Educator Program. He explained the need of Entrepreneurship education and its importance in academics.Mr. Bhatt discussed that entrepreneurship is a key driver of our economy. Wealth and a high majority of jobs are created by small businesses started by entrepreneurially minded individuals, many of whom go on to create big businesses. After that, participants performed various classroom activities to understand how to start our own business.
The First step of activity was to find out big idea which can be converted into business. The participants were divided into six teams, each team wrote certain ideas. Then Mr. Raj explained 5Qs Rubric model which was used to find out best idea or which one is feasible idea. After that each team gave presentation on their best idea based on that 5 Qs Rubric model questions, and defend their idea based on those five questions. Then, to find out the best idea from all over the teams, an activity was performed where one million (fake money) was given to each team and they had to spend the whole money on their idea and team which got the maximum money was announced as winning team.
The evening session was conducted by Mr. Sanjay Kapoor, Consultant, NEN on Business Plan. He explained what is business plan and why it is necessary. Then he gave a brief introduction on “how to create your own business plan”.
Day 2: 14th July, 2016
The morning session was conducted by Mr. Raj Bhatt. Initially, he discussed the topic “Business Plan” and gave an activity to each team to design the business plan on their own idea. Each team member started designing business plan on chart paper. After that each team had given presentation on their business plan. Then, Mr. Raj explained the steps to build an Entrepreneur ecosystem in campus. He also explained the E-Cell and its objectives or functionality.
Then next session was conducted by Mr. Sanjay Kapoor. He gave a brief introduction of the course which Wadhwani Group has introduced for entrepreneurs. After that, he explained about the steps to access and use the EDCast and Learnwise for students and facilitators. EDCast is used for course content and assignments. Learnwise is a mobile application which is used to track the data of students like how many students registered the course.
Day 3: 15th July, 2016
Mr. Raj Bhatt started the session by giving a brief introduction of nine lessons under the first module WFNEN100. Then, Mr. Bhatt assigned one lesson to each team. After fifteen minutes, each team explained the assigned lesson, such as characteristics of successful entrepreneurs. In this lesson each person had to find out his / her personality. For this, they created a set of questions and according to personality, participants answered in terms of numbers to find out the sum of all questions in respect to each personality (Makers, Magician, Mobilizer, Merchant, and Master). Maximum scoring personality suits us. Through this activity, the participants learnt about an effective class discussion.
At the end, Mr. Sanjay Kapoor started a discussion among the participants on various activities conducted in their campus for entrepreneurs - MiniBazar, Entrepreneurs Awareness Camp, TAT, etc.
Overall the Entrepreneurs Educator Program was very beneficial for all participants. It provided a learning platform to learn the dynamics hitting the entrepreneurial world.
