ICT Academy BRIDGE'19: A High Impact Industry Institute Interaction Event of India

To augment skills and accelerate growth, ICT Academy in association with The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India organized BRIDGE'19: A High Impact Industry Institute Interaction Event of India on 11th December 2019 at AICTE H. Q., New Delhi. Mr. Amar Saraswat, Assistant Professor, from IT Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram attended the event.
In the beginning of the event, the motivational lecture was given by the spiritual Guru, Swami Sri Sukhbodhanand Ji. He discussed the self-realization and the willpower of a human being. Delegates and guests present during the inauguration ceremony were, Mr. M Sivakumar, Chief Executive Officer, ICT Academy, Mr. Lakshmi Naraynan, Emeritus Vice Chairman, Cognizant & Chairman, ICT, Mr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder and Executive Chairman, Cyient & Padma Shri Awardee, Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, Chairman, National Board of Accreditation, and Prof. M. P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE.
Mr. Anil D. Sahastrabudhe, AICTE discussed several parameters which are essential for the improvement of the quality standards in the field of technical education. He discussed on updating the syllabus in the curriculum, regular faculty development programs, student internships, student induction programs, teacher certification programs.
The second session was industry keynote session, where Mr. Tanmoy Chakrabarty, Group Government Affairs Officer, Tata Sons Private Limited discussed on taking initiatives to add industry skills within the students, and several parameters on which the academia could focus. Then, Mr. Manu Srivastava, Director, Government Business, Oracle discussed on Oracle business academy.
The other sessions were taken up by Mr. Harish Krishnan, Managing Director, Public Affairs & Strategic engagements, Cisco Systems. Mr. Rahul Sharma, President, India and South Asia, Amazon Internet Services, Prof. Rajive Kumar, Member Secretary, AICTE and Prof. (Dr.) P M Khodke, Central Project Advisor, National Project Implementation Unit, MHRD. Prof. Kumar discussed all the initiatives taken up by the MHRD, such as MIC, Hackathons, and upgrading the skills of faculty members through various programs.
In the end, a panel discussion was held in which Mr. Amit Aggarwal, Chief Executive Officer, IT-ITES Sector Skill Council, NASSCOM acted as a moderator. The various panellists included Ms. Amanda Bauman, Senior Manager, Student Programs, Salesforce, Mr. Prashant Rao, Head- Application Engineering, Mathworks, Mr. Sairam Veeraswamy, Senior Director – Innovation Programs, VMware, Mr. Deepankar Bhattacharya, Head- India Education Programs, Autodesk and Ms. Ruchi Sharma, Delivery Manager, Atos Syntel. During the panel discussion, several topics were discussed which included bridging industry academia gap, improvement in the quality standards, etc.
