Training Programme on "Vehicle Diagnosis System"
17th - 18th January 2022
The SAE India Collegiate Club, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, organized a training programme on “Vehicle Diagnosis System” in association with BOSCH for second-year Mechanical and Electrical Engineering students from 17th - 18th January 2022. The session was led by Mr. Parag S Kavthekar (Technical Trainer, North Region, BOSCH) and coordinated by Mr. Sandeep Bansal and Dr. Pankaj, with support from Dr. Neha Chauhan (HOD, Mechanical Engineering).
The session began with Dr. Pankaj Singh welcoming the expert and emphasizing the significance of bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications in the automotive industry. The training introduced students to Internal Combustion Mechatronics and Electric Vehicles, along with advancements in automobile components, sensors, and their integration with modern vehicle systems.
During the hands-on session, students conducted on-site vehicle diagnostics in the BOSCH lab using a 2012 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. On the second day, a FORCE MOTOR Mini Bus and a Hyundai Grand i10 Nios were analyzed using BOSCH’s ESI software, identifying faulty systems and desynchronized sensors.
A special session focused on the BMW TWIN-CHARGER engine, covering components, sensors, exhausts, filters, casings, and materials used in its construction. The Battery Power Tester was also demonstrated, showcasing its role in powering a motor and alternator.
The training provided students with practical exposure to vehicle diagnostics and advanced automotive technologies, enhancing their industry readiness. This initiative strengthened industry-academia collaboration, ensuring students stay updated with emerging trends in vehicle diagnostics and are equipped for careers in the automotive sector.
