Faculty Induction Programme
31st July 2026
Dronacharya College of Engineering (DCE), Gurugram, organized a Faculty Induction Programme (FIP) on 31st July 2026 at the Seminar Hall, to welcome and orient newly appointed faculty members towards the institution’s academic vision, pedagogical practices, research culture and student-centric approach. The programme was designed to familiarize the new faculty with the institute’s working environment while equipping them with contemporary teaching methodologies and practices aligned with emerging academic and technological requirements.
Prof. (Dr.) Isha Malhotra, Principal, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, led an insightful and highly interactive session, emphasizing the importance of application-based teaching, active student participation and faculty empowerment. She encouraged the faculty members to create engaging classroom environments, motivate students to participate in technical initiatives and maintain a healthy balance between academic excellence and research pursuits. Stressing the role of educators as facilitators and mentors, she highlighted the need to continuously adopt innovative teaching practices and modern learning tools to enhance students’ academic and professional competencies.
Sharing valuable departmental perspectives, Dr. Ashima Sharma, Vice-Principal and HoD, CSE, highlighted the best practices and academic initiatives being undertaken within the Computer Science and Engineering Department. Prof. Pooja Sharma, HoD, Applied Science and Humanities, shared her experiences of mentoring first-year students and discussed their achievements in areas such as international conference participation, NPTEL certifications and competitive programming through platforms such as LeetCode. Her insights reflected the importance of building strong technical foundations from the very beginning of a student’s academic journey.
Adding another dimension to the interaction, Dr. Monika Rani, HoD, ECE, elaborated on the facilities and technical resources extended by the department for interdisciplinary learning and collaboration. She particularly highlighted the e-Yantra Lab, supported by IIT Bombay, along with the activities of the IEEE Technical Society Chapter functioning within the department. These initiatives were presented as valuable avenues for faculty and students to strengthen their exposure to practical learning, innovation and emerging technologies.
Ms. Naina, Librarian, DCE, encouraged the newly inducted faculty members to actively recommend relevant and contemporary books and reference materials for enriching the institute’s library resources and supporting the academic needs of engineering students. Ms. Akanksha, Incharge, Training and Placement Cell, shared insights into the institute’s placement achievements and emphasized the importance of faculty collaboration in making students more technology-driven, industry-ready and professionally competent. She highlighted that continuous faculty support and mentoring play a crucial role in strengthening students’ employability and overall placement preparedness.
A special highlight of the programme was the “Lemonade Session,” which created a warm and informal platform for interaction between the new faculty members and the institutional leadership. Breaking conventional hierarchical barriers, the session encouraged faculty members from different departments to openly share their ideas, discuss classroom challenges and suggest innovative approaches to teaching and student engagement. The relaxed and collaborative interaction strengthened team spirit, boosted morale and fostered a sense of belonging among the newly inducted members of the Dronacharya family.
The programme concluded with a shared commitment from faculty members across departments to actively contribute towards the institute’s vision, mission and student-centric goals during the ongoing academic session. The induction programme served as a meaningful platform for aligning new faculty members with the institution’s academic standards, collaborative culture and innovation-driven ecosystem. The event concluded with a formal expression of gratitude to the management and leadership, followed by a commemorative group photograph, marking the beginning of a new academic journey for the newly inducted faculty members.
