Workshop on "Design Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Innovation Design"

On 21st November 2020, the IIC & MHRD’s Innovation Cell at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, organized a workshop focused on “Design Thinking, Critical Thinking, and Innovation Design.” The session was conducted by Prof. Chandra Shekhar Singh from the ECE department, who shared his expertise on the essential skills required for innovation and problem-solving.
The workshop covered a range of topics crucial for fostering creative thinking and innovation. Prof. Singh introduced participants to the concept of Design Thinking, emphasizing its significance in addressing complex problems and developing user-centric solutions. He elaborated on how this approach helps in understanding the user's needs, brainstorming potential solutions, and prototyping ideas to create impactful designs.
The session also delved into Critical Thinking and its role in effective problem-solving. Prof. Singh explained how critical thinking skills enable individuals to evaluate ideas logically, analyze issues from multiple perspectives, and make informed decisions. He further explored the psychological principles behind creativity and how understanding these principles can enhance one’s ability to come up with innovative ideas.
Additionally, Prof. Singh highlighted the connection between creativity, problem-solving, and product performance, showing how these elements work together to drive successful innovations. He stressed that the ability to think critically and creatively is essential for developing products that meet real-world needs and perform well in the market.
By the end of the workshop, participants had a better understanding of the core principles of design thinking and how to apply critical and creative thinking in their innovation process. The session provided students with valuable tools to approach problems in a structured and innovative way, preparing them to tackle challenges effectively and drive future success in their projects.
