Two Day International Conference on Women's Participation in Economic
and Social Development in South Asia: Role, Status and Challenges

Women Study Centre in collaboration with Baba Mast Nath and Chand Nath Chairat Indira Gandhi University, Meerpur, Rewari organized an International Conference on "Women's Participation in Economic and Social Development in South Asia: Role, Status and Challenges" on 21st-22nd February 2019. Mrs. Savita Devi, Assistant Librarian, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended and presented the paper in the conference.
The Conference was inaugurated on 21st February by the Chief Guest Hon'ble Vice - Chancellor of IGU, Dr. Markanday Ahuja. The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Anju Ahuja the Conference President.
Guest of Honour were Dr. Annapurna Sharma the Registrar of IGU Prof. (Dr.) Anjana Garg & Prof. (Dr.) Kavita Chakravarti. The Session Co-Chaired by Dr. Mamta Kamra and Dr. Satish Kumar of Department of Mathematics, IGU.
On 22nd February 2019, Mrs. Savita Devi presented a research paper on "Different role of women from Ancient to Modern time in basic and higher education in India". The objective of the paper was to discuss and analyse the contribution of women in welfare of the country and the globe. Women empowerment and the participation of women in various activities and initiates were also elaborated in the paper.
Furthermore, the paper also included the theme how women's education in India plays a very important role in the overall development of the country and at the very same time, how she contributes towards the enrichment of higher education in our country.
It was a great opportunity for all to be part of the conference.
