10-Day Summer School on IoT and AI-Driven Research for Engineering Students
July 1st – 16th 2025
The IoT Club of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon successfully conducted a 10-day Summer School Program from July 1 to July 16, 2025, coordinated by Prof. Tamanna Sehgal focused on emerging technologies in the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Designed for second-year B.Tech students ,the program aimed to build foundational skills in IoT hardware, AI-based data interpretation, cloud integration, and research writing. With 15 selected participants, the initiative offered a blend of theory and hands-on sessions covering tools like Arduino Uno, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, Tinkercad, MATLAB, and platforms like Thingspeak and Blynk.
The detailed schedule included workshops on microcontroller programming, sensor integration, app development, cloud storage, and case studies, along with dedicated sessions on IEEE and journal paper writing. Participants were also encouraged to complete the “IoT Fundamentals” certification course from Simplilearn to reinforce their learning. Mini-projects on Smart Agriculture, Traffic Control, e-Waste Management, and Parking Systems allowed teams to implement functional prototypes, integrating cloud and mobile applications. Alumni interactions and research sessions fostered academic curiosity and innovation.
The program concluded with project presentations and positive feedback, with students expressing interest in further research and implementation. The success of the Summer School reflected the combined efforts of faculty, staff, and enthusiastic students, marking a significant step toward nurturing future-ready engineers.
