Jai Shree Tiwari (Roll No. 25502) from the ECS Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, participated in Bhashantara 2025, held on 25th July 2025 at Federation House, FICCI, New Delhi. The event centered around the theme “Catalysing Digital Inclusion through Language Technologies,” which aligns with India’s vision of Viksit Bharat through the development of an inclusive, multilingual digital ecosystem.
The conference focused on the transformative potential of Large Language Models (LLMs), vernacular AI, Universal Acceptance (UA), and multilingual digital governance in bridging language barriers and promoting accessibility across India’s digital landscape. It served as a platform for experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to discuss how language technology can empower citizens and enhance governance efficiency.
Distinguished speakers included Shri S. Krishnan (Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT), Dr. Ajay Data (Chairman, Multilingual Internet & UA Committee, FICCI; CEO, Data Xgen), Mr. Gibson Riungu (Chief – IT and Digital Innovation, UNICEF India), Dr. Chandrasekhar Buddha (CEO, Anuvadini AI, Ministry of Education), Shri Amitabh Nag (CEO, BHASHINI), and several renowned experts from IIT Bombay, JNU, Intel Asia Pacific, BCG, CDAC India, Reverie, and NIXI.
Key sessions explored topics such as inclusive AI through multilingual LLMs, language diversity in smart governance, Universal Acceptance and Email Internationalisation, and Bhashini’s role in voice-enabled digital transformation.
Outcome: The event provided participants with in-depth insights into the evolving landscape of language technologies and their role in fostering digital inclusion, linguistic diversity, and sustainable technological growth in India.
