Visit to 17th FICCI Higher Education Summit 2022

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Institution’s Innovation Cell (IIC), Ministry of Education Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized a visit to the “17th FICCI Higher Education Summit 2022”, which was held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi from 17th - 19th November 2022. 73 students from B.tech 3rd year along with Prof. BMK Prasad and Mr. Ashish Khurana (Assistant Prof.) attended the summit.
The motive of the summit was to make aware the studying mass, the advantages of higher studies in India.
Over the years, the FICCI Higher Education Summit has evolved into a thought leadership forum for the global education ecosystem that brings together key stakeholders including policy makers, administrators, educationists, industry, and students for facilitating collaborations, deliberations, and knowledge sharing. The Summit had witnessed the participation of more than 1200 national and foreign delegates from more than 60 countries
The theme of the summit was “Global Destination for Higher Education: Advantage India”. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Sanjiv Mehta, President FICCI followed by theme address by Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Chair- FICCI Higher Education Committee and Pro Chancellor, Symbosis International University. Keynote session was given by Smt. Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, GoI. Ways to attract brilliant minds to study in India was also discussed along with the requirement of eminent faculty members; partnership with international universities and collaborations with the industry giants to achieve the goal was also sought for. There were 7 panel discussions held across 3 days summit. Eminent speakers from across the globe were there to throw light upon theme. The crux of the panel discussions was to make participants aware that India is worth considerable country for pursuing higher education.
Students of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram got to know there are many opportunities available within India for the students from across the globe for pursuing higher studies. Students gained insights of policy roadmap and other topical issues in higher education from eminent speakers across the globe. They also learnt that there are ample opportunities available for establishing research networks and partnerships to be made globally.
The 3 day session ended with the concluding remarks by Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Chair - FICCI HE Committee, Mr. Ravi Panchanadan, Co-chair, FICCI HE Committee and Dr. Souvik Bhattacharyya, Co-chair, FICCI HE Committee.
