Celebration of National Constitution Day

NSS Units, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, commemorated National Constitution Day on 26th November, 2024 with a series of engaging activities aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the Indian Constitution. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from volunteers and faculties. Dr. Anupam Dalal (NSS, PO, DCE) coordinated the celebration.
The celebration of National Constitution Day at DCE aimed to enhance students' understanding of the Constitution and its role in shaping India's democracy, to instill a sense of civic responsibility and encourage active participation in democratic processes, to stimulate critical thinking and analytical abilities through engaging activities and to inspire young minds to become responsible citizens and contribute to the nation's growth and development.
Key activities of the celebration included:
- Essay Writing Competition:
A captivating essay writing competition was held, inviting students to delve into various aspects of the Indian Constitution. The competition encouraged critical thinking and analytical skills, prompting students to explore the significance of fundamental rights, directive principles, and the role of the judiciary. The best essays were selected based on their content, clarity, and originality.
- Preamble-Making Competition:
A unique preamble-making competition challenged students to craft their own versions of the Preamble, incorporating their understanding of the Constitution's core values. Participants were encouraged to express their creativity and understanding of the Constitution's fundamental principles.
- Quiz Competition:
A stimulating quiz competition tested students' knowledge of the Constitution, its history, and its significance in modern India. The quiz covered a wide range of topics, including constitutional amendments, landmark judgments, and current affairs related to the Constitution.
