Celebration of 134th Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti

NSS Units, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram celebrated the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna receiver, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, recognized as the ‘Father of the Indian Constitution’ and the inaugural Law Minister of Independent India on 14th April 2025.
Also referred to as Equality Day, Ambedka Jayanti honours Dr. Ambedkar’s lifelong dedication to advocating for the rights of women, workers, and marginalized communities in India. He worked tirelessly to eliminate social discrimination and promote equal rights for all citizens under the law.
The event, organized by the college's NSS volunteers, aimed to honor Dr. Ambedkar's legacy and promote his ideals of social justice, equality, and empowerment and to instill a sense of responsibility and commitment to social change.The celebrations centered around the theme of 2025, and featured a poster-making competition, a pledge ceremony, Quiz and a poem competition, engaging students in creative and reflective activities.
The events were structured to maximize student participation and engagement, fostering a deeper understanding ofDr. Ambedkar's relevance in contemporary society.
- Poster Making Competition:Participants created posters depicting various aspects ofDr. Ambedkar's life, his struggles against social discrimination, and his vision for a just and equitable India. The posters showcased a range of artistic styles and creative interpretations, reflecting the students' understanding of the theme.A panel of judges, comprising faculty members and possibly guest speakers, evaluated the posters based on creativity, content, and message.
- Pledge Ceremony: All participants and attendees took a pledge to uphold the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution, as advocated by Dr. Ambedkar. The pledge emphasized commitment to social justice, equality, and the eradication of discrimination in all forms.
- Poem Competition: Students composed and recited poems in honor of Dr. Ambedkar, expressing their admiration for his contributions and reflecting on the significance of his ideals. The poems covered a range of themes, including social justice, equality, empowerment, and the importance of education.The competition provided a platform for students to express their thoughts and emotions through the medium of poetry, fostering a deeper connection with Dr. Ambedkar's legacy.
- Online Quiz competition was organized by the volunteers wherein 120 students of B.Tech 2nd and 3rd year participated and showcased their understanding about the life and achievements of Dr. Ambedkar.
The winner of all the competitions were awarded with Certificate of Appreciation.
