Awareness about New Agriculture Solutions

On the occasion of Kisan Diwas, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized an awareness session on “New Agriculture Solutions” on 23rd December 2018 for farmers in nearby villages. Faculty members and students took the session.
The objective of the session was to make farmers in nearby villages know about the new agriculture technology to increase the productivity.
Faculty members and students went to the nearby village and told farmers they should adopt new technology for sustainable farming. They told to enhance the production and productivity of various crops, the Government of India has initiated various programmes such as Front Line Demonstrations and Extension through network of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), National Mission of Agricultural Extension & Technology (NMAET), National Food Security Mission (NFSM), Soil Health Management Scheme, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), Bringing Green Revolution to Eastern India (BGREI) and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) .
Students told some of the agriculture solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emission from farming practice. Modern farming methods in India are: Aeroponics System, Aquaponics, Hydroponics and Monoculture.
In the end doubts of the farmers were also cleared.
