Awareness Program on
COVID-19: From Pandemic to Opportunities

NSS Unit of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram conducted an awareness program on about “COVID- 19 Threats and Opportunities” in the nearby areas. 20 faculty members and 5 NSS volunteers went to the nearby areas to make the general masses aware about the threats involved with COVID-19 and the precautionary ways that must be followed to get protected from the deadly virus.
The faculty members and the students followed all the protocols and went in a group of 2 to make the general masses aware about the threats involved in case one gets infected by the virus. Various Do’s and Don’t’s were explained to them. Messages that were imparted to them included:
- Maintaining proper physical distance of at least 1 metre from others.
- Avoid crowded places and close contact with others.
- Wear a properly fitted mask when physical distancing is not possible and in poorly ventilated settings.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Properly dispose used tissues immediately and clean hands.
- Clean your hands frequently with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
- If you find any symptoms or test positive for COVID-19, self-isolate until you recover.
Importance of gargling, hot water baths, following balanced diets, regularly performing Yoga asanas andvaporizing was also explained to all.
Along with the threats involved with COVID-19, they were also motivated to search for various opportunities that could be prevailing. They were advised to look for setting up small business in the form of mask making, to develop nutritious packed food and other opportunities linked with the pandemic.
The awareness drive proved to be very informative for the nearby locals.
