Gita Mahotsav Commemoration
28th November 2025
Dronacharya College of Engineering’s faculty members Dr. Anupam Dalal and Dr. Asok Kumar from NSS Unit attended the Gita Mahotsav Commemoration held on 28th November 2025 at Gurugram University. The event was organized to highlight the significance of the Bhagavad Gita in shaping the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and to explore how its timeless wisdom can guide ethical leadership, national progress, and holistic human development.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional Lamp Lighting followed by the chanting of the profound shloka, “कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन” (Karmanye Vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana), emphasizing selfless action—one of the core teachings of the Gita. The welcome address delivered by Dr. Meenakshi set an inspiring tone for the proceedings. The Registrar of Gurugram University, in his introductory speech, highlighted the uniqueness of India as a nation guided not merely by political or economic strength but by its deep-rooted spirituality.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Dr. Vikas Arora, Commissioner of Police, Gurugram, who served as the Chief Guest, and special guests Dr. S. K. Hudda, Former Vice-Chancellor of Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, and Dr. Shreyansh, Former Vice-Chancellor of Sanskrit University, Kaithal. Their scholarly addresses enriched the thematic discussions.
Dr. S. K. Hudda focused on the Gita Saar, emphasizing the three pillars essential for national and personal development—Shiksha (Education), Sanskar (Values), and Sanskriti (Culture). Dr. Shreyansh elaborated upon selected shlokas and introduced the concept of P.C.M. (Pooja, Choka, Mantra) as vital components for a meaningful life, stressing the significance of cultural heritage and respect for parents. He also differentiated between the terms Bhagvat Gita and Bhagwad Gita from a linguistic standpoint.
In his keynote address, Dr. Vikas Arora described the Bhagavad Gita as the “Manual of the Human Being.” He reflected on its teachings related to self-realization, emphasizing the connection between the lower and Higher Self and highlighting Yoga and Consciousness as pathways to true happiness, referencing the concluding shlokas of the Gita.
The event served as a valuable learning platform, effectively blending spiritual wisdom with academic perspectives and illustrating how traditional Indian knowledge systems can contribute to national growth and the development of responsible, ethical citizens. The themes of discipline, duty, and self-mastery discussed during the program resonate strongly with the educational vision of DCE.
The Gita Mahotsav Commemoration provided profound insights into the essence of righteous living and leadership, reinforcing the true role of educators as guides who inspire others to follow the path of virtue and wisdom as taught in the Bhagavad Gita.
