An Entrepreneurial Workshop & Competition "What's your big idea?"

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon under the flagship of MHRD Innovation Cell, organized an entrepreneurial workshop & competition "What's your big idea?" on 22nd October 2019 to bring out the entrepreneurship skills of the students. Students from CSE, IT ECE and ME Department participated in the event.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Amar Saraswat, Assistant Professor, IT Department. Mr. Saraswat motivated the students by presenting certain facts on entrepreneurship. He also discussed the need of entrepreneurs to the country.
Next, the main "Construction" phase of the workshop started, when Mr. Saraswat gave the option of picking out a slip on which one idea was written. Then, the students were given one minute time to pick up the essential material needed to develop the idea.
Then, the students were guided by Ms. Ashu Khurana, Assistant Professor & EDC Coordinator, CSE Department to develop the various ideas.
Next, the "Presentation" phase started where the students demonstrated their product in front of the judges and audience. The students spoke on various parameters such as how the product was developed, the innovation used in the product, how the product developed by them is more useful than those available in the market, and how to attract the consumer to purchase there developed product.
The last round was "Q&A", in which the judges asked various questions to the participants about their products such as durability etc. In the end, the judges concluded the workshop and Mr. Saraswat declared the results.
Preeti (22671) from CSIT and Garima Gupta (22052), from CSE stood first in the competition. Siddharth Khurana (20905) from CSE obtained second and Prerna Gupta (22118) from CSE and Jyoti Chaudhary (22660) from CSIT obtained third position in the competition.
In the end, Mr. Saraswat gave certificates to all the winners and participants and delivered the vote of thanks.
