Online Refresher/Induction Programme on "Use of ICT in Engineering Education"
7th - 13th April 2021
3 faculty members, Ms. Akancha Shekhar, Ms. Nikita Rathi and Ms. Neha Sharma from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram attended the 6 days online Refresher Programme “Use of ICT in Engineering Education" sponsored by AICTE-ISTE from 7th - 13th April 2021. The FDP was organized by MSIT College.
The major objective of the FDP was to make participants aware about the various online digital technologies, mediums tool available for the better impartment of teaching learning process.
Day 1: 7th April 2021
1st day of FDP started with the inauguration session by Guest Prof. B. V. R. Reddy, USICT, GGSIPU and Prof. S. S. Agrawal Director General, KIIT Group of Colleges. Moving the session, Dr. Preeti Khanna Associate Professor, School of Business Management, SVKM's NMIMS – Mumbai explained the participants the “Social Dilemma: Implications on Individuals and Businesses”.
Next Dr. Neeta Singh, Assistant Professor, Gautam Buddha University took the session on topic “Integrating Sustainable ICT tools for Classroom Teaching”. She described now a days ICT has become an integral part of teaching –learning interaction. She explained if the teachers are trained to use ICT, provide creative and individualized options for students to express their understandings, and leave students better prepared to deal with ongoing technological change in society and the workplace.
Day 2: 8th April 2021
Second day session was taken by Dr. Bhawana Nigam IET, DAVV on the topic “Artificial Intelligence for Clinical Imaging”. He explained with the use of AI development and delivery of healthcare imaging is improving. Various applications like autonomous surgical robots, dosage error reduction virtual nursing assistants, automated image diagnosis are some of the examples where AI has played important role for the technological advancements in the health sector.
Further moving the session Role of Metrology and IT sector in Industrial Revolution 4.0 was explained by Dr. KP Chaudhary , Professor MSIT .
The topic “Efficient Writing with modern tools” was discussed by Next Dr. Gaurav Varshey Assistant Professor, NIT Pune.
Day 3 : 9th April 2021
Mr. Amit Kadian, Assistant Professor, Kasturba Institute of Technology started the third day session and discussed on the topic “Virtual Labs for Remote Learning”. He explained the importance of virtual labs. He told participants Virtual labs are most important tool for e learning as it enable students to perform many experiments that are difficult to perform in real laboratories. Virtual lab enables students and teachers to use latest technologies.
Next session was on topic “Introduction to Intelligent Techniques” by Prof. Shabana Mehfuz, Jamia Milia University, Delhi. She made participants familiar to basic concept of Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Systems and Soft Computing Techniques. Further she discussed various Intelligent techniques and their applications. Later she also told the comparisons between various Intelligent techniques
Last session of the day is taken by Dr.Ashish Bagwari Assistant Professor, Women Institute of Technology Dehradun on topic “Use of Information & Communication Technology”. He told ICT is an extensional term for Information Technology that stresses the role of unified communications. He also explained why we need ICT in engineering education. He told ICT is more effective and it makes use of the benefits of both online and face to face modes of delivery.
Day 4 : 10th April 2021
Fourth Day of the session was taken by Dr. Dinesh Singh Associate Professor DCRUST, Murthal on topic “Reading and writing research manuscript and Introduction to Medley”. The topic covered during the session was Academic Publishing, Before you start, Manuscript structure, hints and tips and platform.
Moving the session further Mr. Prashant Malik ITIL Process CONSULTANT & Certified Scrum Master discussed the topic “Role of Agile in ICT and its advantages in Education Industry”
Next session was taken by Prof. Srinivasa K G NITTTR Chandigarh on topic “Digital Pedagogy”. He explained Digital Pedagogy is the study of contemporary digital technologies in teaching and learning. He also told it can be applied to online, hybrid and face to face learning environment.
Day 5 : 12th April 2021
Dr. Ashish Khanna Associate Professor, MAIT, GGSIPU took the session on topic “How to write a research paper in Reputed Journal”. He explained the basic things that should be kept in mind while writing a research paper.
Next session was taken by Dr. Parul Aggarwal Associate Professor, Jamia Hamdard University on topic “Advancements in Healthcare”. She told with the advancement in digital healthcare technologies outcomes for patients and doctors are improving.
Further Dr.Nilam Assistant Professor, DTU took the session and discussed the topic “Effective Usage of ICT tools in teaching of Mathematics and Research”.
Day 6 : 13th April 2021
First session of the day is taken by Sister BK Monika Gupta Brahmakumaris . She explained how to get rid of everday’s stress and anxiety.
In the end there was feedback and test session. Mr.Jawed Ahmed Section Chairman, ISTE Delhi took the valedictory session.
