Roadshow and Interaction on Happening Haryana Global Investors’
Summit 2016
To ensure an enabling environment in state and as a part of the pre-event activities of the main summit, Government of Haryana in association with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), organized a Roadshow and Interaction onHappening Haryana Global Investors’ Summit 2016 on 22nd December 2015 at Hotel The Lalit, New Delhi. Mr. Amar Saraswat, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the summit.
The key panellists included Shri Manohar Lal, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of Haryana, Capt. Abhimanyu, Hon'ble Minister of Industries, Government of Haryana, Shri Shreekant Somany, Chairman, CII Northern Region & Chairman & Managing Director, Somany Ceramics Ltd, Shri Devender Singh, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Government of Haryana, Shri D S Dhesi, Chief Secretary, Government of Haryana, Shri Sunil Kant Munjal, Joint Managing Director, Hero MotoCorp Ltd, Shri Malvinder M Singh, Executive Chairman, Fortis Healthcare Ltd., Shri Adesh Gupta, Chief Executive Officer, Liberty Group and Shri Sammer Munjal, Chairman, CII Haryana State Council, managing Director, Satyam Auto Components Ltd.
The welcome remark was given by Shri Shreekant Somany, in which he discussed about enhancing competitiveness of the Industries. After that, Shri Devender Singh discussed the various investment opportunities in Haryana. He also discussed about the core city Gurgaon, which will soon turn out to be a giant IT Hub. Shri Devender Singh said that Haryana is fast emerging as one of the most favoured investment destinations in India. The globalization of markets and a buoyant economy have given a tremendous impetus to the industrial sector in Haryana. In addition to it, the state already has a competitive advantage in terms of strategic location, basic infrastructure as well as large skilled, educated and young workforce.
Shri D. S. Dhesi addressed the summit and said that the State has investor-friendly policy environment. Haryana is basically an agrarian economy, producing variety of food and cash crops, along with dairy products. The state accommodates several places of tourist interests.
After that, Shri Sunil Kant Munjal, Shri Malvinder M Singh, and Shri Adesh Gupta discussed their experiences in the happening and evolving state like Haryana. Speaking on the occasion, Haryana Industries Minister Captain Abhimanyu said that steps were being taken to organise boot camps and roadshows for start-up awareness. It is a joint venture of State Government and Start-up Accelerator Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Abhimanyu discussed that these boot camps would be organised in colleges and universities across the State from January onwards.
Then, Shri Manohar Lal, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of Haryana launched the ‘Start-up’ programme by lighting the torch, and discussed that the programme was aimed at generating the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth of the State. He also said that the ‘Start-up’ torch would be taken to various universities and colleges in the State, apart from units associated with the fields of technical, management and industry and the torch would finally reach the venue of ‘Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit-2016’ in Gurgaon on March 8, 2016. In the end, Shri Sammer Munjal delivered the vote of thanks.
