Psychological Support for COVID Pandemic Condition Event Highlights

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India conducted a webinar on “Psychological Support for COVID Pandemic Condition”on 28th May 2021. Mr. Ajay Kumar was the keynote speaker. Prof. Pooja Sharma was the faculty coordinator of the webinar. 100 students attended the webinar.
The session mainly focussed on:
- Equip students with COVID Helper’s skill.
- Create a strong psychological support system
Prof. Pooja Sharma started the session by introducing the invited speaker Mr. Ajay (Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Chandigarh) to the participants. The session includes several activities wherein students have actively participated and got encouraged towards their capabilities.
Students learnt approach how to provide psychological support and important information to people affected during this pandemic. Students appreciated the features and necessity of the discussed solutions at these hard times. The session was concluded by vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Isha Malhotra, Principal, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, highlighting the importance of professional guidance and counselling in becoming supporters to the needful person suffering from the disease or getting affected by its consequences.
Such online interactions help to keep up the moral of young generation towards their social responsibilities as many a times they are not aware of how much help they can put forward in a simple strategically way towards the society in such an early age. Looking to the enthusiasm of the participants of the event, the college has approved a committee to work-upon in this direction wherein the students are the active participants.
