Microsoft Asia MSP Summit 2018 at Taiwan
26th - 30th June 2018
The Asia MSP Summit 2018 by Microsoft was hosted from 26th – 30th June, 2018 at Taiwan, Taipei. It was the Asia wide summit hosting 100 MSPs from 14 countries. Vertika Shukla (18181) of CSE, Department from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon was selected to be part of the summit to represent India.
The summit was a great opportunity to network, learn from each other and equip with the skills to launch student career in this cross-cultural gathering. The entire summit was organized in National Taiwan University and Microsoft Office Taiwan by Microsoft officials.
In the summit students were introduced about AI technologies followed by AI workshop. Later there was a quiz contest on Microsoft Technology in which 7 winners were selected. Vertika was one of the quiz winners at the summit.
Next there was a day long hackathon on machine learning where students were formed in a group of 5 and they were given with a problem statement and they had to solve that problem using Machine Learning Algorithms.
Next students were also introduced about Start-up methods and mythology. There was Microsoft Imagine cup showcase where winners of various Asian countries presented their projects. Students were also given opportunity to interact with MSP Alumni.
The entire summit was ended by a team building activity which was fun and learning experience where students were given various tasks which they had to complete within 2 hours by cooperating with other team members. The activity was to teach students how to work and lead a team.
Overall it was a great learning experience for the students.
