Industrial Visit to Huawei Telecommunications, Gurgaon

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering & Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon had organized an Industrial visit to "Huawei Telecommunications, Gurgaon" on 1st March 2019 for IV and VI semester students of ECE and EEE Department. Dr. Isha Malhotra (Associate Professor)and Mr. Krishanu Kundu (Assistant Professor) along with 54 students visited the industry.
Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. is a Chinese multinational networking and telecommunications equipment and services company headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. It is the largest telecommunications equipment manufacturer in the world, having overtaken Ericsson in 2012. They also focus on making continuous investments in key technologies, architectures, and standards in the ICT field.
Col RS Dubey, AD Consultants. (Authorized Training Partner of Huawei Network Academy) briefed to the students, the areas like Core Networks, Wireless Telecom, IP-Datacom (Routers), Networks (2G, 3G, LTE) in which Huawei Telecom is operating.
Col RS Dubey also discussed data, voice and video transmission through optical fiber and microwave and their particular role in the complete process of transmitting data end to end. The complete module consisted of: 4G, Cloud computing, SDH, WDM Hierarchy and ICT. He also showed the hardware related to Cloud computing, MSC, BSC, 4G and related servers.
Later Col Dubey also gave students a brief overview how a call is conducted from end user. He introduced students to the various modules which maintain and control billing and authentication functions, location and roaming functions. Further he provided students with the explanation of SDH, GGSN, BG, CG and different Gateways. Detailed discussion on an emerging technology known as Cloud Computing was done under which it was shown how to access our data saved on our PC from any location.
In the end, detailed course outline and relevant features of Huawei Certified Industrial Training (HIT) program commencing from 3rd June, 2019 was given.
The industrial visit proved to be fruitful for students for exploring their practical knowledge in the field of Telecomm and networking.
