IIT Bombay Smart Classroom Workshop
24th - 25th June 2019
A two days "Smart Classroom Workshop" was conducted at IIT Bombay on 24th - 25th June, 2019. The workshop was attended by faculty members from 110 Remote Centers of IIT Bombay situated across the country. Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Assistant Professor, CSE Department attended the workshop on behalf Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon.
Day 1: (24th June 2019) :-
The workshop started with the inaugural address by Prof. Kameshwari Chebrolu, IIT Bombay followed by welcoming address by Prof. Bhaskaran Raman. Prof. Kameshwari Chebrolu threw light on Bodhi tree, its usage and importance. She discussed Bodhi tree is a learning management system (LMS) which helps teachers and educators for customized learning.
She also discussed Bodhi Tree Lab and performed some important task like select subject presentation, Notes, Quiz as well as video lectures. Teacher and student can also interact (communicate) with each other through Bodhi Tree. All participants watch videos on Bodhi Tree, pertaining to, Dashboard. Bodhi tree has many inbuilt features ranging for the basics such as file upload, assignments, quizzes and video lectures and advanced features like forums, wiki, etc.
Prof. Bhaskaran Raman introduced SAFE android application for Instructor and students for the purpose of subject related Quiz and attendance.
Day 2: (25th June 2019) :-
Prof. Bhaskaran Raman explained, SAFE has many built-in features ranging from the basics such as interact with Bothi Tree, quizzes uploaded by instructor through Bodhi Tree, mark attendance assigned through Bodhi Tree and advanced features such as attendance with face oriented,etc. that can be used by learners. SAFE supports secure and easy classroom attendance using students' smartphones. SAFE also supports secure and easy objective exams on students' smartphones; we have a large database of objective questions in various CS/IT subjects Bodhi Tree also supports automated evaluation of programming assignments.
Prof.Varsha Apte explained, Bodhi Tree / EVALPRO. The EvalPro sub-system of Bodhi Tree supports auto-evaluation of students' programming assignments. It has a wide database of programming problems, their solutions, and evaluation test cases for automated evaluation, for the topics: "Introduction to Programming" (using C or C++), "Python Programming Basics", "Data Structures".
The workshop ended with the Valedictory Session followed by singing of National Anthem.
