Faculty Development Program On

"Interfacing with Arduino"

Department of ECE, Dronacharya College of Engineering  organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Interfacing with Arduino” was organized by Department of ECE, Dronacharya College of Engineering on 23^rd – 30^th January 2021. Mr. Krishanu Kundu, (Assistant Professor, ECE), was the key speaker and coordinator of the Faculty Development Program. 19 participants from different departments attended the Faculty Development Program.

The objective of the FDP was to impart education in Embedded System by learning basics of Arduino and to engage participants through exciting hands-on application of engineering principles.

Mr. Krishanu Kundu briefed participants about the mission, vision and future of Robotics as well as Embedded systems. The technical session started with the basic features and aspects of ARDUINO Board. The participants were briefed; Arduino is an open source platform used for building electronics projects. Arduino boards are able to read inputs - light on a sensor, a finger on a button, or a Twitter message - and turn it into an output - activating a motor, turning on an LED, publishing something online. Arduino consists of both a physical programmable circuit board or microcontroller (ATmega2560) and software IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that runs on the computer. It is used to write and upload computer code to the physical board.

In the Faculty Development Program, participants learnt interfacing of ultrasonic sensor, LCD Display and interfacing of motor with ARDUINO. Throughout the duration of Faculty development program participants were motivated to use this embedded skill for building a professional interest in the field of Robotics and future project building applications. 

There were also hands on training with the use of Arduino practice kit on the following topics: LED Blinking, Arduino Interfacing with IR Sensor and Arduino Interfacing with Temperature Sensor.

The valediction session was chaired by Dr. Isha Malhotra, Principal, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. Dr. Isha congratulated all the participants and expressed her gratitude to the organizing department and key speaker.

The Faculty development program was concluded by coordinator, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon with his valedictory speech.
