Janmashtami Celebration

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, organized a vibrant and joyous Janmashtami Celebration on 3rd September 2026 at the Reception Area (Ground Floor) to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. The celebration aimed to provide students and faculty members an opportunity to connect with Indian cultural traditions and values while fostering a spirit of togetherness, harmony, and joyful participation.
The programme commenced with traditional worship and prayers of Lord Krishna, creating a serene and devotional atmosphere across the campus. Faculty members participated enthusiastically in the Puja and joined the celebrations with great zeal and enthusiasm. The campus was beautifully adorned to reflect the festive spirit of Janmashtami, adding to the vibrancy and cultural appeal of the occasion.
A number of engaging activities were organized as part of the celebration, including a Matka Competition, selfie stand, and traditional festive activities. These activities encouraged active participation and provided students with an opportunity to celebrate the festival in a lively and interactive manner. The Matka Competition in particular witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students and added an element of excitement and fun to the celebrations.
Students of 1st Year ECS, Utkarsh Kaushik and Ananya Sharma, secured the first and second positions, respectively, in the Matka Competition. The winners were felicitated with prizes by the Principal and Vice Principal, appreciating their enthusiastic participation and festive spirit.
The celebration concluded with Prasad distribution and warm Janmashtami greetings among students and faculty members. The event created a joyful and memorable experience for the entire campus community and highlighted the importance of preserving and celebrating India's rich cultural heritage. It also reflected the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering's commitment to the holistic development of students by providing meaningful opportunities for cultural participation, social interaction, and value-based learning alongside technical education.
