Short Term Course on "Faculty Development: Planning and Management for Institutional Excellence"

National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh organized a short term course on "Faculty Development: Planning and Management for Institutional Excellence" from 18th - 22nd November 2019 at GTBIT, New Delhi. Ms. Karanvir Kaur, Assistant Professor, CSE Department and Mr. Chandra Shekhar Singh, Assistant Professor, ECE Department from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram attended the course.
Day 1:
The inauguration ceremony was held under the esteemed presence of Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, NITTTR Chandigarh.
The first session was taken by Dr. L.N. Mittal, Retd. Professor, NITTTR Chandigarh He discussed building of world class institutions and the role of faculty members. In the next session, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, NITTTR Chandigarh explained the importance of faculty development.
Day 2:
The first session of the day was taken up by Dr. Sanjiv Chadha, Professor, MGSI Public Administration where he explained the teacher effectiveness and its development. Next, Er. Suditi Jindal, Director, Philyra Training & Consultancy, Chandigarh took the session on teacher effectiveness and communication skills. The last session was taken by Dr. RK Wats, Professor, NITTTR, Chandigarh on Planning and Management of Faculty Development.
Day 3:
The first and second session was taken by Dr. Monika Agarwal, Professor UIAMS, PU, Chandigarh, on systematic Design of Faculty Development Programmes and methods.
Day 4:
The first session was taken by Dr. S. Dutt to motivate about self-development. The next session was taken by Dr. Sanjiv Gupta, SML ISUZU to explain the role of leadership. The last session was taken by Dr. Jatinder Grover, Professor, PU, Chandigarh on evaluation and impacts of faculty development.
Day 5:
The session was taken up by Dr. B.S Pabla on outcome based education and role of faculty. In the second session, participants presented their programme design (group task) to Dr. RK Wats.
In the end, feedback from each of the participant was taken and valedictory ceremony was held under the presence of Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, NITTTR Chandigarh.
