INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO ESCORTS GROUP

Mechanical Engineering Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized an industrial visit to "Escorts Group" on 4th April 2019. 22 students of M.E, 6th semester along with two faculty member Mr. Rajesh Mattoo and Mr. P.C. Chhokar visited Escorts Group on plant 2, Agri Machinery Plant.
The Escorts Group is an Indian engineering company that operates in the sectors of Agri-Machinery, construction and material handling equipment, railway equipment. It has headquarters in Faridabad, Haryana. The company was launched in 1944 with collaboration with Ford. It became private limited in 1960 after separation from Ford. Mr. Har Prasad Nanda and Yudi Nanda were the founder of the company. Escorts Group's management team includes Nikhil Nanda as the Chairman and Managing Director.
The main objective of industrial visits was to make students understand the current market scenario, latest & most demanding technologies and criteria for selection etc. and to understand the gap between the theoretical and practical knowledge.
The team Dronacharya was welcomed by Mr. Sunil Bhat, Deputy General Manager Industrial. Mr. Sanjay Singh, Head of Heat Treatment guided students to the manufacturing, production, assembly and control systems of the Agri Machinery Plant. He told various technologies used in the production of tractors and the list of various parts manufactured in the company.
After the visit, students got a chance to interact with the HR Business Partner, Ms. Soumyani Chatterjee who told various things about the company starting from the foundation of company to its success story. She advised students to be interactive with the officials. She shared her views about the placements and internship processes of the company.
From the visit, students got practical knowledge on manufacturing of Tractors, Carry Cranes, and testing of Engines.
