Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, proudly hosted its 23rd Convocation Ceremony on 14th June 2025 for the batch of 2024 marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of its graduating engineering students. The event took place in the college auditorium with great enthusiasm, in the presence of students, faculty members, and distinguished guests.
The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) S.D. Joshi, Professor Emeritus, Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) New Delhi. Prof. Joshi, a revered academician and researcher, is renowned for his remarkable contributions to the field of electrical engineering and his dedication to advancing technical education in India. His presence added great prestige to the occasion.
In his keynote address, Prof. Joshi inspired the graduating batch by highlighting the pivotal role engineers play in nation-building and technological innovation. He encouraged students to pursue excellence with integrity, remain curious, and contribute meaningfully to society through their skills and values.
The ceremony commenced with a traditional academic procession, lighting of the lamp, and an invocation. The Director B.M.K Prasad welcomed the Chief Guest and also addressed the students by saying "Success is not defined by the job you take up, but by the impact you create — on people, on communities, and on the world. Be curious, be courageous, and never stop learning. The future is in your hands." Dr. Isha Malhotra, Principal presented the Annual Report, showcasing the college’s accomplishments, research advancements, and student achievements over the academic year. Degrees and awards were conferred upon the graduates from various engineering disciplines, celebrating their dedication, hard work, and perseverance.
One of the most awaited moments of the ceremony was the conferring of degrees, where students were formally awarded their B.Tech degrees in various disciplines. The Heads of Departments (HODs) were invited to the stage to individually present degrees to their respective department graduates, sharing congratulatory words and blessings as they handed over the certificates. This personal interaction between HODs and students added a heartfelt touch to the academic milestone.
As the graduates stepped forward in their ceremonial robes, smiles and emotions ran high. For many, this moment represented years of hard work, resilience, and growth. The graduating class stood tall, ready to embrace the future—some preparing for higher studies, others stepping into industry roles, and many aspiring to become changemakers in their fields.
In a heartfelt message to the graduates, the Principal remarked, “This convocation is not the end but the beginning of a new journey. Carry forward the values you have imbibed here, and let your achievements be a source of pride for your family, your college, and your country.
The convocation concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem. As the graduates stepped into a new chapter of their lives, the event left behind an atmosphere of pride, accomplishment, and hope for a promising future.
