International Women’s Day 2026 Celebration

NSS Units in association with Women Development Cell of Dronacharya College of Engineering (DCE), Gurugram, enthusiastically celebrated International Women’s Day 2026on 9th March 2026 under the global theme “Give To Gain.” The celebration focused on emphasizing that generosity - through knowledge, resources, or advocacy - can create a sustainable path toward gender equality.
The 2026 theme highlighted the power of reciprocity, delivering the message that when women thrive, society as a whole benefits. Faculty members, staff, and students were encouraged to contribute meaningfully to women’s advancement, fostering an environment of shared progress and inclusive growth. The campaign emphasized that supporting women’s development is not only beneficial to individuals but to the broader community.
The celebrations witnessed active participation from female faculty members, staff, and girl students (technocrats), who collectively championed the message of empowerment. During interactive sessions, participants pledged to contribute toward gender equality through the “GIVE” initiative, which focused on professional growth through mentoring and career opportunities, social justice through advocacy and equal pay, institutional support through allocation of resources, and individual action through respect, time, and networking.
The importance of individual responsibility was also emphasized. NSS volunteers and faculty discussed the need to call out stereotypes, challenge discrimination, and question biases in both the workplace and society. They highlighted the value of celebrating women’s successes to create positive role models and inspire future generations.
The celebrations began with an outreach message to society, emphasizing the interconnectedness of a supportive world. The spirit of the event was carried forwardwith on-campus workshops and training sessions. A notable session titled “Education, Skills, and University Township” focused on initiatives to strengthen the higher education ecosystem, promote skill development, and foster innovation-driven university campuses for the future. Female technocrats were encouraged to share their knowledge and guidance, embodying the spirit of “Give To Gain” and ensuring a continuous momentum of growth within the engineering community.
Adding a festive touch to the occasion, the event featured a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing celebration, unity, and shared commitment toward women’s empowerment. Faculty, staff, and students reinforcing the collective spirit of joy and mutual support.
The International Women’s Day 2026 celebration at Dronacharya College of Engineering was more than a one-day event; it represented a long-term commitment to collaboration and empowerment.
