NSS One-Day Orientation Programme

Dronacharya College of Engineering (DCE), Gurugram, actively participated in the National Service Scheme (NSS) One-Day Orientation Programme organized by Gurugram University on 17th November 2025. The event brought together 320 Programme Officers and clerical staff from five districts—Nuh, Palwal, Gurugram, Rewari, and Faridabad—for intensive training, discussions, and knowledge sharing. Dr. Anupam Dalal represented DCE and contributed significantly to the deliberations, strengthening the collaborative spirit of the programme.
The Orientation Programme, efficiently coordinated by Dr. Renu Choudhary, NSS Coordinator, and her dedicated team, aimed to reinforce the ideological foundations of social service while providing technical clarity for effective NSS scheme implementation. The sessions were designed to inspire participants and equip them with practical skills to manage NSS activities efficiently.
The programme featured distinguished resource persons who delivered impactful sessions. Dr. Mauhar Singh, Associate Professor at JNU, New Delhi, delivered an inspiring lecture on “Incorporating the Spirit of Social Service in Life & Nation Building”, emphasizing how volunteerism contributes to personal growth and nation building. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, State NSS Officer, provided valuable guidance on the role, implementation, and achievements of the NSS, with special attention to the effective utilization of the MY Bharat digital platform. Shri Gurpreet Singh from the State NSS Cell conducted a technical session on the PFMS–CNA Module, focusing on grant management, efficient fund utilization for both GIA and SFU units, and best practices for managing NSS activities.
DCE’s active participation contributed to the success of the programme, fostering meaningful exchanges of ideas and best practices among NSS functionaries. The Orientation Programme successfully equipped participants with both the ideological understanding and technical skills necessary to implement NSS activities effectively, reinforcing the commitment to volunteerism and social service across the region.
