Visit to Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan
5th to 9th March 2026
Dronacharya College of Engineeringprovides global research exposureto its final-year students through their international internship Program at Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech), Japan during February-March 2026. The program aimed to provide global research exposure and hands-on experience in advanced technological domains. A group of 20 students from various disciplines, including CSE, CSE (AIML), ECE, IoT, and CSIT, participated in this internship, engaging in research activities and academic projects under expert guidance.
As part of this initiative, Prof. (Dr.) Ritu Pahwa (HOD, CSE -AIML) visited Kyushu Institute of Technology from 5th to 9th March 2026 to interact with the students and review their academic progress. Upon arrival at Fukuoka Airport, she was received by the students and stayed at the university guest house. During her visit, she interacted with the students, discussed their work, and observed their research activities. The students also shared their experiences of living independently and adapting to an international academic environment.
Prof. Pahwa attended the 8th International Symposium on Neuromorphic AI Hardware, organized by Tamukoh Lab and Tanaka Lab at Kyushu Institute of Technology. The symposium focused on recent developments in neuromorphic AI hardware and provided a platform for knowledge exchange among researchers and academicians. DCE students actively contributed as coordinators during the event and gained exposure to international research practices. She also visited WAGA Lab, where students demonstrated their ongoing work in areas such as Brain Decoding, EEG experiments, and Kinematic Data Acquisition.
During the second day of the symposium, a research poster titled “Spiking Neural Network: Energy-Efficient Model for Real-Time ECG Classification” was presented. A major achievement of the visit was the Best Poster Presentation Award received by Aryan Rakheja (2020–24 Batch) for his work on “Investigation of Frontier-Based Exploration Using Diverse Path Planning Algorithms for Efficient Autonomous Mapping.” In addition, several participants, including Fumika Komori, Ayane Matsuzaki, Shota Uchiyama, Alif Syafiq Kamarol Zaman, and Aryan Rakheja, were recognized with Student Presentation Awards.
The internship cohort included students such as Janani Jayashankar, Preeti Yadav, Ujjwal Saini, Kartik Manchanda, Manvendra Sang, Namrata Khurana, Nishkarsh Maheshwari, Radhika Sharma, Samay Pawar, Satvik Jayalwal, Shuktij Gupta, Sharad Bhatt, Tanisha Dahiya, Ujjwal Tanwar, Vivin Sharma, Nitin, Lalit, Shreya Pawalia, and Nishant, representing multiple engineering disciplines.
The visit concluded with a group interaction and photograph with the students of the 2026 graduating batch from DCE campus. Overall, the international internship and faculty visit strengthened academic collaboration, enhanced research exposure, and reflected the institution’s focus on global learning and student development.
