Engineer's Day Celebration

13th - 15th September 2024

On the occasion of Birth Anniversary of India’s most prominent engineer Dr. Mokshagundam Vishweshvaraya, CSI, IEEE, ACM, ISTE Student Chapter and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram celebrated “Engineers Day” from 13^th – 15^th September 2024. The event fostered a spirit of innovation, collaboration and inspiration among budding engineers.

The celebration commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. Isha Malhotra (Principal, DCE) followed by a keynote address on "Engineering Innovations for Sustainable Development,"

Day 1: 13^th September 2024

A technical exhibition showcasing innovative projects by students, ranging from renewable energy solutions to AI-driven applications was the highlight of the day. B. Tech 3^rd year and Final year Students (all branches) participated in the exhibition.  Mr. Sandeep Rajain (Solutions Architect with Hewlett Packard Enterprise) came to analyze the project ideas and share valuable feedback. Students were highly motivated and incorporated all the suggestions in their projects.

Day 2: 14^th September 2024

A Quiz competition was organised for the students of Applied Science & Humanities department with the aim of involving the academic community in the conference to expedite learning, and to provide a platform to demonstrate their innovative research skills. The event was organised by Prof. Anjali Yadav (Faculty, DCE) and Prof. Suman (Faculty, DCE). Google Developer Student Club, Technical Language Society and Deviator Club of college planned the whole event and also gave an introduction of their clubs to all students. The program was attended by students form first year and the enthusiasm of students was overwhelming.

Day 3: 15^th September 2024

The final day blended technical brilliance with cultural exuberance. The highlight was a cultural program featuring performances by students that celebrated the role of engineers in shaping society. Additionally, the prize distribution ceremony recognized winners of the quiz competition.

The valedictory session included an inspiring speech by the Principal, who commended the efforts of the organizing committee and participants.

Benefits/Outcome: the celebration fostered innovation, teamwork, and technical skills among students through hands-on activities and competitions. It provided a platform to showcase talent, learn from experts, and build a sense of pride in engineering as a profession, inspiring students to contribute to technological advancements.
