YUKTI, “Young India Combating COVID with Knowledge, Technology and Innovation” was launched on April 12, 2020. It is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
It is an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India and is focused on establishing a system of repositories of ideas, innovations, and startups developed in academic institutions is. It is carried out by the MoE's Innovation Cell and AICTE. This allows academic institutions to systematically foster the I&E culture by managing and nurturing these innovations by providing ongoing support in the form of one-on-one mentorship, grant assistance, referral and linkage with incubation units, connecting with Angel/Venture Capital (VC) investors network, knowledge agencies, etc.
The initiative includes handholding help in the form of funding assistance, mentorship, referrals for national innovation challenges, connections to incubation units, connections to angel/VC networks, facilitation of technology transfer, and support for start-ups and inventions produced by HEIs.
Under the banner of (IIC, DCE), DCE-Yukti has been established for fetching and evaluating the innovative ideas at different levels of readiness for commercialization. DCE-Yukti works as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education.
