Lecture sessions on ‘Urbanization and Environmental sustainability’ during India@75 National Volunteering Week
"20th January, 2017 "
Mrs. Sangeeta Singla, Associate Professor, Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon delivered a motivational lecture on “Urbanization and Environmental Sustainability” on 20th January, 2017 and attended by students of DCE, Gurgaon. The lecture focused on how urbanization, the shift of population from rural to an urban society, is bringing a large concentration of people into towns and cities.

Dr. Anupam Dalal, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities delivered a lecture on “Business Economic Strength & Technology” on 21st January, 2017. The objective of the lecture was to show the Correlation between business, Economic strength, and technology. The lecture was attended by 30 students of various streams to interact and share their innovative ideas, knowledge and highlight new concepts in business using various type of technology.

Mr. Dharambir, from Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities delivered a lecture on “Food Security” on 22nd January, 2017 and was attended by students of DCE, Gurgaon. The lecture focused on dimensions of food security, insecurities amongst poorest section of society; factors affecting food insecurities in a country.

Dr. Ravi Dutt, Associate Professor, Department of Applied Science & Humanities delivered a lecture on the theme of ‘Morale, Leadership, Good Governance and Public Administration’ on 23rd January, 2017 and was attended by students of DCE, Gurgaon. The topic was relevant to the engineering students and professionals. The lecture focused on how Effective Leadership and Good Governance are two sides of the same coin; a leader without having competency cannot be effective and efficient in any leading organization.

Dr. Suchitra Deswal, Associate Professor, Department of Applied Science and Humanities delivered the lecture on the topic “Art, Literature and Sports” was held on 24th January, 2017 and attended by students of DCE, Gurgaon. The focus of the talk was to highlight the role played by arts, literature and sports in the wholesome education that sensitize students to the needs of the society as a whole and thereby exploring arts, literature and sports as viable career opportunities.
National Convention of Student Volunteers
"8th March, 2017 "
Ten Student Volunteers along with faculty members — Mr.Ashok Kumar and Mr. Dharamvir APS Department from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the National Convention of Student Volunteers (Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan) organized on 8th March 2017 at Plenary Hall, Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi under Digital Financial Literacy Campaign. The dignitaries present at the event were Hon’ble Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar (Union Human Resource Development Minister) Hon’ble Minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad (Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice), K.K.Sharma (Chief Secretary Current Affairs), R. Subrahmanyam (Additional Secretary (TE)) and Prof. Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe (A.I.C.T.E Chairman). The purpose of the Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan was to actively engage the students of Higher Education Institutions to encourage and motivate all payers and payees to use a digitally enabled cashless economic system for transfer of funds.
