Celebration of 76th Republic Day

NSS Units, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram in association with Veterans India celebrated The 76th Republic Day of India with immense patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on 26th January 2025. The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Major General Sunil Kumar Razdan, a highly distinguished war hero and recipient of the Kirti Chakra and Vishisht Sewa Medal. The celebration was a blend of solemn remembrance, cultural vibrancy, and academic honour, reinforcing the essence of the Constitution of India and its values.
The event commenced with the grand arrival of the Chief Guest, escorted by Dr. Hansraj (Registrar, DCE), Dr. Isha Malhotra (Principal, DCE), HODs and senior faculty members. The Band, comprising talented musicians, played a magnificent welcome tune as the Chief Guest entered the venue. A disciplined procession followed, led by the NSS Cadets and students carrying the National Flag, symbolizing the spirit of leadership and integrity.
The ceremony started with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest-Major General Sunil Kumar Razdan, accompanied with the singing of the National Anthem by the entire gathering. The atmosphere resonated with patriotic zeal as everyone stood in unison, paying tribute to the nation.
Dr. Isha Malhotra welcomed the esteemed guests and highlighted the significance of Republic Day, urging students to uphold the values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
A series of vibrant cultural performances followed, showcasing the rich diversity of India’s traditions and patriotic fervour. Each performance reflected a deep sense of patriotism, unity, and cultural pride, making the audience feel connected to the essence of the nation.
The NSS Wing of DCE presented a detailed video documentary showcasing their community service initiatives in 2024. Following the presentation, all students and faculty members took the Preamble Pledge of the Constitution, committing themselves to selfless service and National Development.
Then, the Chief Guest, Major General Sunil Kumar Razdan, addressed the audience with an inspirational speech, sharing his experiences from the battlefield and emphasizing the importance of discipline, courage, and national service. He encouraged students to contribute to the nation’s progress through innovation, hard work, and ethical responsibility. His speech was met with a thunderous round of applause.
This was followed by the Felicitation Ceremony, where notable students and faculty members were honoured for their outstanding contributions. Afterwards, the Chief Guest was honoured with a token of appreciation by the Registrar, Principal and all HoDs.
To symbolize freedom and aspirations, a release of tricolour balloons took place, creating a picturesque moment in the sky. Following this, the Patriotic Run was held, where students, faculty, and staff ran across the campus and in the nearby areas holding National Flags, chanting “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”.
