IIT Madras organized an Interactive Session by Prof Hema A Murthy for NPTEL Online course "Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms" on 16th March 2016. Students from APS departments along with the faculty member Ms. Dipti Girdhar, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Science & Engineering, attended the session. The objective of this session was to discuss the problems faced by the students during the course.

A two - day UGC sponsored International seminar on “Shakespeare Through the Ages : A Historical Review” was held from 22nd to 23rd April 2016 at Hindu Girls College. The Seminar was organised to commemorate the 400th year ofShakespeare’s death and to deliberate upon the challenge of formulating an estimate of the Bard of Stratford’s worldwide impact. Dr. Suchitra Deswal from the Applied Sciences and Humanities department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon presented her paper titled Looking for Shakespeare in India and India in Shakespeare at the conference.

National Seminar on Narratives of Freedom in Indian English Literature

A two - day National Seminar on Narratives of Freedom in Indian English Literature organised by DAV PG College, Varanasi on 29th and 30th April 2016. Two faculty members Dr. Sunil Mishra and Dr. Parul Mishra from Applied Sciences & Humanities Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon presented their papers titled “Construction of gender identity in The Tiger’s Daughter” and “Quest for cultural identity in Amitav Ghosh’s in an Antique Land” in the seminar. The objective of this seminar was to provide a platform for open discussion on the relevance of literature in present and to look back into the Indian tradition for establishing its relevance in contemporary times.
